Marine 2008

Atlantic Canada's largest fishing and marine industries exhibition is being held at The Glacier in Mount Pearl, Newfoundland and Labrador. The exhibition has over 100 exhibit spaces - the largest exhibition of its kind in Atlantic Canada. The exhibition unites individuals and companies from all over Canada, the United States and Europe for three days to view the industries' latest products and technologies; to explore government programs; to gather and discuss mutual experiences, problems and solutions - all under the one roof. The Marine Show was created by Fishermen's Management Services Ltd. in 1981 and has been a popular annual event for the local fishing industry since that time.

Fishermen’s Management Services Ltd. (www.fms-sa.ca), a member of the Registered Public Accountants’ Association - Atlantic (“RPAA”), was incorporated in 1979. It began as a One-person accounting operation in the Town of Harbour Grace that specialized in accounting and taxation matters for the Newfoundland fishery.Within a year, we realized that in order to better represent the Newfoundland fishery in accounting and taxation matters, we would have to relocate. In 1980, we moved our head office to Gander so that it was equally accessible to our growing clientele from all areas of the Province.

As our clientele growth continued and diversified to encompass clients from various other types of business, we opened a subsequent division of Fishermen’s Management Services Ltd. - Sweetapple & Associates (also a member of the RPAA - Atlantic). Our accounting clientele has grown substantially since its inception some 29 years ago! Today, we proudly cater to hundreds of clients which include various types of business, such as:
